Úspechy našich recitátoriek

V uplynulých týždňoch sa konali školské, okresné aj oblastné kolá recitačných súťaží, v ktorých naše žiačky dosiahli výborné výsledky.

Zo školského kola postúpili do okresného kola:

• Dorota Vĺčková (3.B)- prednes poézie
• Júlia Lýdia Okrúhlicová (2.D)-  prednes prózy

V okresnom kole v II. kategórii nás úspešne reprezentovali:

• Lujza Glendová (6.D) – 2. miesto v prednese poézie
• Zora Slivová (5.A) – 3. miesto v prednese prózy

Zvlášť gratulujeme Lujze Glendovej, ktorá navyše zvíťazila v oblastnom kole súťaže Návraty poézie.

Success of Our Young Reciters 

In recent weeks, school, district, and regional rounds of recitation competitions have taken place, and our pupils achieved excellent results. 

From the school round, the following pupils advanced to the district round: 

• Dorota Vĺčková (Grade 3B) – poetry recitation 
• Júlia Lýdia Okrúhlicová (Grade 2D) – prose recitation 

In the district round (Category II), our school was proudly represented by: 

• Lujza Glendová (Grade 6D), who was awarded the 2nd place in poetry recitation 
• Zora Slivová (Grade 5A), who earned the 3rd place in prose recitation 

We extend special congratulations to Lujza Glendová, who also won the 1st place in the regional round of the “Return of Poetry” competition. 

We sincerely congratulate all our reciters and thank them for representing our school with excellence!

Sadenie čučoriedky v rámci projektu EÚ „Školský program"
Ako súčasť projektu Európskej únie „Školský program – Ovocie, zelenina, mlieko“ sa žiaci 3. ročníka zapojili do praktickej aktivity – spoločného sadenia čučoriedky. Cieľom bolo nielen dozvedieť sa viac o zdravej výžive, ale aj pochopiť, ako rastú ovocné kríky a akú starostlivosť potrebujú. 

Veríme, že naša čučoriedka bude rásť, prinesie sladké ovocie a pomôže žiakom uvedomiť si význam čerstvého ovocia v každodennej strave!

Planting a Blueberry Bush as Part of the EU Project “School Program"
As part of the European Union project “School Program – Fruit, Vegetables, Milk,” third-grade students participated in a hands-on activity – planting a blueberry bush together. The goal was not only to learn more about healthy nutrition but also to understand how fruit bushes grow and what kind of care they need. 

We believe our blueberry plant will thrive, produce sweet fruit, and help students realize the importance of fresh fruit in their daily diet!

NOC S ANDERSENOM

Dňa 28.–29. marca 2025 (piatok, sobota) sa v budove Galileo School uskutoční medzinárodné podujatie “Noc s Andersenom”. Zúčastnia sa ho vybraní žiaci prvého a druhého stupňa, ktorí splnili stanovené podmienky. Podujatie, zamerané na podporu čítania a vzťahu ku knihám, začne večer o 19:30 h. a skončí ráno o 8:00 h. Žiaci sú vítaní v kostýmoch rozprávkových postáv, čím spestria atmosféru podujatia.

Tešíme sa na spoločný zážitok!

NIGHT WITH THE ANDERSEN

On March 28–29, 2025 (Friday, Saturday) the international event "Night with Andersen" will take place at Galileo School. Selected students from both primary and secondary school who met the specified conditions will participate. The event, focused on promoting reading and a love for books, will start in the evening at 7:30 PM and end in the morning at 8:00 AM. Students are welcome to come dressed as fairy tale characters, which will enhance the atmosphere of the event.

We are looking forward to the shared experience!

Tretí ročník na cestách po Japonsku

15 žiakov triedy GYM3B našej strednej školy sa v dňoch od 28. februára do 9. marca 2025 zúčastnilo nezabudnuteľného výletu do Japonska. Počas šiestich nocí v Tokiu a troch v Kjóte mali študenti jedinečnú príležitosť spoznať fascinujúce spojenie moderných technológií a bohatej kultúry tejto ázijskej krajiny.

V Tokiu navštívili významné miesta ako Kawasaki Robospace, Museum of Emerging Science a Maglev Museum, kde sa oboznámili s najnovšími technologickými inováciami. Kultúrnu časť výletu obohatili návštevy pamiatok ako svätyňa Meiji Jingu, Inari Shrine a viaceré budhistické chrámy.

Tento výlet poskytol našim študentom nielen cenné vzdelávacie skúsenosti, ale aj hlbšie pochopenie japonskej kultúry a tradícií, čo im zanechalo nezabudnuteľné spomienky a hodnotné poznatky.

Tešíme sa na ďalšie spoločné zážitky a pokračovanie v objavovaní sveta.

Third Grade Rambles Through Japan

Fifteen students from the 3rd B class (GYM3B) of our high school embarked on an unforgettable trip to Japan from February 28 to March 9, 2025. During their six nights in Tokyo and three in Kyoto, the students had a unique opportunity to experience the fascinating blend of modern technology and the rich culture of this Asian country.

In Tokyo, they visited significant places such as Kawasaki Robospace, the Museum of Emerging Science, and the Maglev Museum, where they explored the latest technological innovations. The cultural aspect of the trip was enriched by visits to landmarks like the Meiji Jingu Shrine, the Inari Shrine, and several Buddhist temples.

This trip not only provided our students with valuable educational experiences but also gave them a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and traditions, leaving them with unforgettable memories and valuable insights.

We look forward to more shared experiences and continued exploration of the world.

Dear Elementary Parents

This year again the International House in Bratislava will host the Cambridge YLE (Young Learners of English) Exams in Galileo School.

The exams will take place at Galileo School from 8 till 3pm on Tuesday, 29th April 2025

International House offers the following three exams:

Pre A1 Starters (for age 7-10) Cost: 70 EUR (Some confident 7 year old in Year 1 may consider it)

A1 Movers (for age 8-11) Cost: 75 EUR

A2 Flyers (for age 9-12) Cost: 80 EUR

These exams are not mandatory and your child does not have to do them, however they are a good way of motivating students with their English and they offer an objective, internationally recognized level; children will also receive a certificate. A large number of students took the exams last year, successfully achieving good marks and enjoying the experience.

V stredu, dňa 19. marca 2025 prebieha na našej strednej škole celoslovenské testovanie žiakov GYM1 (Testovanie 9). Testy sa konajú v učebniach GYM1A, GYM2A a GYM2B. Testovanie začína o 8:00 hod. a predpokladané ukončenie je približne o 12:15 hod.

The External National Testing 

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, the external national testing of GYM1 students (Testovanie 9) will take place in High school. The tests will be held in classrooms GYM1A, GYM2A, and GYM2B. The testing will begin at 8:00 AM, with an expected completion time around 12:15 PM.
