Dear Elementary Parents

This year again the International House in Bratislava will host the Cambridge YLE (Young Learners of English) Exams in Galileo School.

The exams will take place at Galileo School from 8 till 3pm on Tuesday, 29th April 2025

International House offers the following three exams:

Pre A1 Starters (for age 7-10) Cost: 70 EUR (Some confident 7 year old in Year 1 may consider it)

A1 Movers (for age 8-11) Cost: 75 EUR

A2 Flyers (for age 9-12) Cost: 80 EUR

These exams are not mandatory and your child does not have to do them, however they are a good way of motivating students with their English and they offer an objective, internationally recognized level; children will also receive a certificate. A large number of students took the exams last year, successfully achieving good marks and enjoying the experience.

Vážení rodičia,

V júni ste od nás obdržali formulár ŽIADOSŤ (rodiča dieťaťa alebo fyzickej osoby, ktorej je dieťa zverené do starostlivosti rozhodnutím súdu o podanie žiadosti o poskytnutie dotácie na podporu výchovy k stravovacím návykom dieťaťa), s termínom jej odovzdania do 30.6.2024

Všetci tí, od ktorých dodatočne vyplnenú ŽIADOSŤ obdržíme na info@galileoschool.sk do 5.8.2024, majú na dotáciu nárok od 1.9.2024. Tí, ktorých vyplnená ŽIADOSŤ bude zaslaná po tomto termíne alebo bude doručená do školy do 8.9.2024, budú mať nárok na dotáciu na stravu od 1.10.2024.

O dotáciu na stravu môže žiadať rodič žiaka základnej školy, žiaka 1. ročníka gymnázia (ak neabsolvoval v minulom školskom roku 9. ročník ZŠ) a dieťaťa v poslednom ročníku materskej školy (prípravný ročník, u nás prepclass).

Prajeme príjemné prežitie prázdninových dní.

Dear parents, 

in June, you received from us the APPLICATION form (parent of a child or a legal guardian to whom the child is entrusted by a court decision to submit an application for a grant to meal subsidy / support the education of the child's eating habits), with a deadline of June 30, 2024. 

All those whose additionally completed APPLICATION we receive by 5th August 2024 by email to info@galileoschool.sk are entitled to the subsidy from 1st September 2024. Those, whose completed APPLICATION is sent after this deadline or will be delivered to the school by 8th September 2024, will be entitled to a meal subsidy from 1st October 2024. 

A parent of a primary school student, a parent of a Gym1 student (only if the Gym1 student did not complete the Grade 9 the previous school year) and a child in the last year of Kindergarten (preparatory year, in our case prepclass) can apply for a meal subsidy.

We wish you enjoyable time during the last days of the summer holidays.

Cambridge Exams

This year again the International House in Bratislava will host the Cambridge English Language Exams in Galileo School.

I would like to invite you to book this exam directly with the international house. Please register your child to the right level using the links below. Deadline for registration - by end of February.

Vážení rodičia a zamestnanci školy,

Dovoľujeme si vás touto cestou upozorniť na zmenu dopravného značenia v okolí školy. Do areálu už nie je možné vojsť z Korytnickej ulici. Ku škole je prístup iba z Kazanskej (cez Hornádsku a Dudvážsku) a to ako na predný, tak aj na zadný dvor. Pri výjazde z oboch školských dvorov, prosím, nasledujte dopravné značenie, ktoré navádza na jednosmernú prevádzku. Zo zadného dvora sa dá vyjsť iba na Korytnickú ulicu. Pozor pri vychádzaní z predného dvora, jednosmerná cesta ústí na Dudvážsku, kde si takmer žiadny vodič prichádzajúci od parkoviska Tesca neuvedomuje, že má dávať prednosť vozidlám prichádzajúcim z prava, teda vám.

Dear parents, students and school staff,

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the change in traffic signs around the school, due to the implementation of a one-way traffic system in the area. It is no longer possible to enter the school area from Korytnicka street. The school can only be accessed from Kazanská street(via Hornádská streetor Dudvážská street), to the both entrance gates: to the front yard as well as to the back yard. When exiting both school yards, please follow the traffic signs that indicate one-way traffic. The exit from the backyard leads onto Korytnická street only. Please take care when leaving the front yard, the one-way road rejoins the Dudvážska street where almost no driver arriving from the Tesco car park is aware that they should give way to vehicles coming from the right, i.e. you.

Vážení rodičia,

V súvislosti s rôznymi negatívnymi informáciami ohľadne stredných škôl šíriacimi sa na internete, si vás dovoľujeme informovať, že situáciu sme konzultovali s políciou a tiež naše opatrenia. Jedno bratislavské gymnázium obdržalo dnes ráno výhražný mail a aj keď sa nás tento mail zdanlivo netýka a už vôbec základnej školy a materskej školy, chceme vás ubezpečiť, že situáciu berieme vážne.

Všetky mikulášske aktivity zajtrajšieho dňa sa budú odohrávať iba v interiéri školy.  Zamestnanci aj žiaci sú povinní registrovať sa elektronicky pri každom príchode aj odchode zo školy. Sú prísne zakázané návštevy cudzích osôb. Je posilnený dozor vo vstupnej hale a tiež kontrola a pohyb automobilov aj osôb pri vstupe do areálu školy. Ten bude počas dňa uzavretý a monitorovaný.

Zároveň upozorňujeme, že je venovaná zvýšená pozornosť monitorovaniu všetkých priestorov školy prostredníctvom kamerového systému.

Veríme, že našim aktívnym prístupom k ochrane priestorov školy a spoluprácou s políciou sa nám podarí vytvoriť bezpečné prostredie pre vaše deti a všetkých osôb tak, aby sme nerušene pokračovali vo výučbe a oslave Mikuláša.

Dear parents, 

Regarding the various negative information about secondary schools spreading on the Internet, we would like to inform you that we have consulted the police about the situation and also about our measures set in place. A Bratislava grammar school received a threatening email this morning, and even though this email does not seem to concern us, let alone the elementary school and kindergarten, we want to assure you, that we are taking the situation seriously. 

All Santa Claus activities tomorrow will take place only inside the school building. Employees and students are required to register electronically each time they arrive and leave the school. Visits by strangers are strictly prohibited. The supervision in the entrance hall is strengthened, as well as the control and movement of cars and people when entering the school grounds. The gates will be closed and monitored during the day. 

At the same time, we would like to point out that increased attention is paid to the monitoring of all school premises through the CCTV. 

We believe that with our active approach to the observation of school premises and cooperation with the police, we will be able to create a safe environment for your children and all persons, so that we can continue teaching and celebrating Santa Claus undisturbed.
